Dinner at Langkawi

Danish outside Hj Jelani

On day 3, we had dinner at Restaurant Hj Jelani at Pantai Chenang. At RM36, we had rice, tomyam, ayam goreng kunyit, kerabu mangga, kailan ikan masin and drinks. The tomyam that we ordered is Bangkok tomyam, with milk, and the gravy is mich thicker than the normal tomyam. However, the tomyam was full of cockles which to me, is unacceptable.

On the first night, we had our dinner at Hj Ramly, also at Pantai Chenang, but on the other side of the road.

On the second night, we were treated by my wife's aunt at a restaurant near Kuah.

On the last night, before our departure, we chose a restaurant away from Chenang toward airport, beside sawah padi. For RM15, we had simpler food - nasi lemak special, nasi goreng tomyam and nasi + telor dadar + sup for the kids.

Island hopping - Pulau Beras Basah

The final destination is an hour at the beach of wet rice island. Nothing much here except for beach and sea. The beach has a lot of broekn coral, probably from the sea bed nearby.

Island hopping - eagle feeding

An eagle catching his food supposed to appear in the background, but the P1i was too slow (or the bird too fast). The boat driver threw in water chicken stomach to fees them and drive away to see the eagle dive and catch the floating free food. I guess the eagle here donlt have to catch any fish no more because they will get free food twice a day everyday.

Island hopping - Tasik Dayang Bunting

Our first destination is Pulau Dayang Bunting which got it name from the shape of the mountain behind me. The route from the jetty to the lake is quite an effort for family with little kids like us. I did some swimming on the lake which Danish was afraid to let himself in. The island also has a lot of Kera, so becareful with your things. A mat salleh, stupid enough to leave a bag with camera equipment only to let the kera to play with the expensive lenses.

Island hopping

At 2.30 pm, we did island hopping for RM80 for two adult through the hotel. The hotel is also using private boat departing from other nearby jetty if there are not many guests going. The published rate is RM40/adult and RM25/kid above 3. The fun and sport guy discounted Danish, probably because he is too thin.

Day 3 - Laman Padi and check-in

After check out from TNB bungalow at 11, we went to Laman Padi. Danish was afraid to orang-orang, thus we only manage to get through the batas halfway. At 12pm, we check in at Awana Porto Malai for RM190 pernight plus RM100 for half day rate. We request ed to check out at 8pm as our flight is at 10pm+. Early in the morning, when I called Aseania, they want to charge me full day rate. Theirs is RM170 pernight.

Day 3 - beach morning

We have to check out at 11am. We spent the morning at the beach behind TNB Bungalow. The beach is white and clean. Danish likes to collect kulit terung, as he calls them, which actually sea shells. Dania is afraid to walk barefooted, so she just stood like a statue. The are also a lot of half naked mat salleh from nearby hotel passing by us to get to the other side of the beach.

Mini petrosains and end of day 2

After telaga air hangat, we went to mini petrosains at Petronas Quay. Inside, there are a lot of interesting item for the kids (and adult too). We spent about an hour the before going to the Zon at Underwater World. We were advised by my wife's aunt who work at the zon not to visit Under Water World because there are not many interesting fishes inside for RM35/adult. Later that night, she treated us a seafood dinner near Kuah.
